Dr Sue Blackwell, of the British Committee for the Universities of Palestine as well as the National Executive Committee of the University and College Union, will be giving a talk on the reasons for and benefits of academic and cultural boycott. We have recently seen many artists and musicians, as well as academics, refusing to perform and work in Israel (such as Brian Eno, Ken Loach, Godard, Gil-Scott Heron, Pixies, etc), receiving a lot of backlash in the process.
